Day Five of the Stepcase LifeHack Five Day Become an Early Riser Challenge
I did not get up early today.

I didn't slip.

I didn't over sleep.

I made a deliberate choice.

The goal in the rising early challenge was to be more productive. But, on Wed (when I had gone to bed late on Tuesday) I was completely worthless most of the day. I was tired and dragging. Up until 4:30 when I dropped the child at Trombone Lessons and went and took a 20 minute nap.

So, when we decided to go Karaoke last night I knew I was not going to get up this morning at 6. It was interesting because I woke up on my own right at 6. I looked at the clock and told myself No and went back to sleep. Then Mick tried to be helpful and remind me it was 6. Again, I told her No.

Sure, getting up early sets a tone for the whole day, but, so does not getting enough sleep.

Some where in between things is the balance we are all looking for.

I've proved to myself now that I CAN make it a regular thing to get up early, and that I can also chose to ignore that behavior for the sake of appropriate amounts of sleep.

Today, I made a choice, it was deliberate, and I feel good about it.

I'm so glad for you! Maybe for you, early is 8 instead of 9, or 7:30 instead of 8. I think you were right the other day when you said your body wasn't made that way... I'm really impressed with what you did this last week, but, I'm also really happy that you're not mad at yourself now, and that you managed to solve this puzzle for you in a way that is very true to your core.
